Royal wedding 2018 Meghan Markle Givenchy dress in detail


Afterward months of thought, the wedding dress of Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle’s was shown. The boat neck, pure white gown was designed by the artistic director of Givenchy, Clare Waight Keller. As Miss Markle moved out on St George’s Chapel at noon, crowd witnessed the full gown.

The Designer

Miss Markle met Miss Waight Keller this year, decided to work thoroughly with her on the design due to her “lasting and stylish artistic, calm demeanour and flawless tailoring”. As said by the fashion attributes editor in chief at Elle magazine, Sara McAlpine, Givenchy has brought talented designers from the United Kingdom at product containing John Galliano and Alexander McQueen.

The Body

The simple boat neck gown has pure white color, emphasizing Miss Markle’s waist and framing her shoulders, and three-quarter sleeves.

The Veil

A five meter-long white veil of silk covering her appearance which involved flowery detail demonstrating all of the 53 countries of Commonwealth was wore by Miss Markle. Miss Markle also selected her two favorite flowers – Wintersweet from Palace and the California poppy, to be decorated on the bridal veil. Miss Markle’s veil design is alike the Catherine Elizabeth Middleton.

The tiara

The Queen lent diamond bandeau tiara of Queen Mary to Miss Markle, to hold her veil in place.

The bandeau has a removable brooch of 10 amazing diamonds in the centre. The brooch was presented to Queen Mary as a marriage gift in 1893, which was later finished into tiara in 1932.

The headpiece contains platinum and diamonds in 11 units. Miss Markle wore bracelet and earrings by Cartier too.

Unlike Catherine Elizabeth Middleton – Duchess of Sussex wore her tiara hair up, instead of loose. The bride’s make-up was done by make-up artist and old friend Daniel Martin, with hair styled by Serge Normant.


The material

To make the long veil for the Royal Wedding, dressmakers worked hundreds of hours – including frequently cleaning their hands every 30 minutes, which is hand-embroidered by them in silk threads and organza.

The bouquet

The customized bridal bouquet was designed by Phillippa Craddock. On Friday, Prince Harry picked many flowers from Kensington Palace.The bouquet contains forget-me-nots which used to be Princess of Wales’ favorite flowers. They were chosen to honor the memorial of Diana (Late). The bouquet also contains lily of the valley, astrantia and jasmine, scented sweet peas, spring of myrtle and astilbe, all tied with a colored, fresh silk ribbon.

At the chapel, Florist Miss Craddock created the flowery exhibitions, which was packed with hornbeam, branches of beech, foxgloves and peonies, white roses and birch.Miss Craddock began her corporate nine years ago. She has worked with Hampton Court Palace, V&A, Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen, Kensington Palace and British Vogue.

The Shoes

Miss Markle wore silk satin pumps on her big day found on elegant pointed fashion design by Givenchy. Her shoes were designed by Clare Waight Keller and were the flawless complement to her pure white gown.

Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married in front of the Queen and 600 other guests at St George’s Chapel. The wedding shared British custom with modernism and the African-American tradition.
